The CryoLaser penetrates deep into the dermis and is absorbed by melanin in the hairs follicles. The laser energy is converted into thermal energy, which damages the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding tissue for effective hair removal. Three different wavelengths will work simultaneously for powerful hair removal treatments. The Cryo-system incorporates a Cryo-head which ensures comfort by reducing the temperature of the head to -6c.

HOW DOES CRYOLASER WORK?

Laser Hair Removal Crawley West Sussex

Most salons offer what is known as IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) as laser hair removal. This is misleading as the beam of light produced by IPL is wide-spectrum and does not involve lasers. Because only some of the energy generated during IPL affects the hairs it’s a less efficient method of hair removal than laser treatment.

Why is laser more effective than IPL?

IPL doesn’t target any specific aspect of the hair. The hair absorbs some wavelengths of the light, resulting in heating and disruption of the follicle, while the rest are reflected away. Light from laser is parallel providing a concentrated beam of light. In addition this light is monochromatic which makes it more concentrated. It focuses on the pigment (colour) of the hair rather than anything else. This allows the laser to penetrate much further into the hair follicle to target that pesky hair bulb more effectively. It can destroy the hair bulb without causing any damage to the surrounding tissue.

Our laser hair removal machine provides fast removal of unwanted hair for all colours of skin.

  • At Kelly’s Beauty Box, we use the Criss CryoLaser, a gold-standard laser hair removal system. It delivers highly effective, long-lasting results while keeping your skin comfortable with advanced cooling technology.

    • Laser Hair Removal (Criss CryoLaser) uses a concentrated beam of light that precisely targets hair follicles, destroying them with minimal impact on the surrounding skin. It is more powerful, more effective, and provides longer-lasting results than IPL.

    • IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) uses a broad spectrum of light that scatters across the skin, making it less focused and less effective for permanent hair reduction. IPL often requires more sessions and may not work as well on certain hair types.

  • Most clients need 6-8 sessions for optimal results, depending on the treatment area and hair type. Maintenance sessions may be required for long-term smoothness.

  • Laser hair removal significantly reduces hair growth, with many clients experiencing long-term results. Some hair may regrow over time but will be finer and lighter, and occasional top-up treatments can maintain results.

  • Thanks to the Criss CryoLaser’s built-in cooling system, treatments are comfortable with minimal discomfort, often described as a slight warming or tingling sensation.

  • We can safely treat almost any area of the body.

  • The Criss CryoLaser is effective on all skin types and any hair colour.

    • Shave the area 24 hours before your session (avoid waxing, tweezing, or epilating).

    • Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and fake tan for 2 weeks before treatment.

    • Do not apply lotions, creams, or deodorants to the area on the day of your appointment.

    • Avoid sun exposure and wear SPF 30+ sunscreen daily.

    • Avoid hot showers, saunas, and intense exercise for 24-48 hours.

    • Do not wax, pluck, or tweeze between sessions—shaving only is allowed.

  • While there is no confirmed risk, we do not recommend laser treatments during pregnancy due to hormonal changes affecting hair growth and skin sensitivity.
